2009 was the birth of my grandson, Brinner Kase Anderson. This child was born with huge eyes full of interest in everything around him. At 10 months he would listen to the wind and try to say "wind" with a strange attraction to the amusing experience of something that seemed odd. Some people stop and stare as this child learned to walk, talk and grow. Brinner is definitely a "different" child. He has always seemed to look at the world, and everything in it, differently than most children his age do.
Brinner is a tall, blondish/red haired, green eyed, gorgeous child. The middle son of my youngest daughter. Brinner has lived in my home since the moment he was born. Naturally, with a child being raised in my home, he has been taught 50% of what he knows by me - his mimi. I love this child as if he were born from my body. He can be difficult at times and hard to handle, some say ADHD, I say "all boy".
School starts next Monday and Brinner will be in kindergarten. My anxiety is large and I can hardly hold back my tears. How can this baby be going to school? Will he know how to open his milk at lunch, what about naptime - Brinner has never taken a scheduled nap, will he go to the bathroom and actually use it or will he play? All these questions continue to plague my mind and pull at my heart strings.
School is the first step to Brinner leaving the nest and becoming his own person. I hope and pray the teacher can see the "difference" that is inside Brinner and help it grow into a bigger, better and successful identity that is his own, but is nothing short of perfect. Because to this mimi - perfect he is! Prayers sent my way will be gladly appreciated. : )
